the Gold Coast Backgammon Club Summer Classic is returning for 2026

DATE: Sunday 19th March 2026
TIME: Registration 10.30am sharp for 11am start
WHERE: Benowa Tavern – 117 Ashmore Rd Benowa

There will be THREE jam packed tournaments happening on the day:

SUMMER CLASSIC OPEN DIVISION

• $50 entry + optional side pool
• $10 registration fee
• 16 player field
• 9 point matches
• Clocks required
• Buybacks subject to availability
• Winner $400 + trophy, Runner Up $200, Semi Finalists $100 each

SUMMER CLASSIC INTERMEDIATE DIVISION

• $20 entry + optional side pool
• $5 registration fee
• 16 player field
• 7 point matches
• Buybacks subject to availability
• Winner $160 + trophy, Runner Up $80, Semi Finalists $40 each

NOTE: The Intermediate tournament is for less experienced players only. Subject to the Tournament Director’s discretion. You may have to play in the Open division.

SUMMER CLASSIC REDEMPTION 
As players are knocked out of BOTH the main tournaments, they will be eligible to buy back into the Redemption tournament subject to availability

• $20 entry + optional side pool
• 16 player field
• 7 point matches
• Buybacks subject to availability
• Winner $160 + trophy, Runner Up $40, Semi Finalists $40 each

Please note, prize money is subject to 16 player fields being filled
100% of entry fees are being returned as prize money.

Lunch, snacks and drinks will be available for purchase throughout the day at Benowa Tavern who have kindly donated the use of their venue to us. We ask that all players purchase lunch or dinner and/or drinks during the day. No outside food or drinks to be bought in. Please support ALL venues that are supporting GCBCG Backgammon

This will be an ANZBGF rated event.
Please bring your BOARD and a CLOCK if available
